Music in Lanark welcomes Lorna Reid’s jazz quintet
Since launching her debut album to a packed house at Pizza Express Jazz Club London in 2008, Lorna Reid has grown to become one of Scotland’s most sought-after jazz artists.
Twice she has been nominated for ‘Best Jazz Vocalist’ in the Scottish Jazz Awards, in 2011 and 2013. She has debuted as a radio presenter on BBC Radio Scotland and featured as an opening act for the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival.

Hide AdShe tours the country’s theatres and jazz clubs to packed houses and her shows at the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival and Edinburgh Fringe sold out this summer.
Her new album Falliing Like Dew, with 12 original jazz, blues, pop and country tracks she has written herself, has been met with critical acclaim receiving rave reviews and national radio play.
The programme next Saturday evening will include classic songs from great writers such as Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart and Gershwin alongside original songs from Lorna’s new album.
The quintet also includes the talents of pianist Euan Stevenson, saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski, bassist Andy Sharkey and drummer Tom Gordon.
