Planning application for affordable flats on outskirts of Bearsden

A planning application has been submitted to transform a derelict area on the outskirts of Bearsden into apartments.

The site is between Bearsden Road and Crow Road.

The joint application, submitted by CCG (Scotland) Ltd, Partick Housing Association and Hanover Scotland, would see the construction of 46 one and two-bedroom affordable flats spread across two blocks and a mix of private and communal green space and resident parking.

The proposals for ‘The Sawmills’, which takes its name from the Temple Hills Sawmill that once occupied the site in the 1930s, include the demolition of the former Canal Bar and Restaurant.
