Veterans cause on a mission
Its fundraisers - wearing distinctive purple jackets - will be visiting Cumbernauld over the next few weeks, as part of a Scotland-wide drive to gain much-needed funds.And to allow the charity to plan for the future, people are being asked to offer their support by signing up for a direct debit.
The council and local police will be told where the fundraisers will be working.

Hide AdThey will be asking local people for a small but regular donation to help with the charity’s ongoing costs.
Sara Bannerman, Erskine’s head of fundraising, said: “Each and every day at Erskine, veterans remember not only those who fought by their side but those who are no longer with them.
They remember those who are currently serving and who put their lives on the line to protect and keep us safe.
“Our aim is to ensure the people of Scotland remember too, by helping Erskine care for those veterans who have sacrificed so much. ”
