Complaints over council development on former site of Kirkintilloch clinic
Builders moved on to the former Townhead Clinic site, in Kirkintilloch’s Lenzie Road, earlier this year.
East Dunbartonshire Council owns the land and is planning to build 16 new flats, a pharmacy and a “parking courtyard” on the site.

Last week a portacabin was left blocking several parking spaces.
A spokesperson for the Miner’s Club said: “I hope this isn’t the start of things to come.
“They assured me that it would only be there for one day, but three days later it was still there.”

Now residents want assurances from East Dunbartonshire Council chiefs that they will monitor the situation.
One householder said: “If the council can’t even assure their own building sites are properly managed, what hope is there for the ones they don’t own.”
The Herald have asked East Dunbartonshire Council to comment on this story.
