Is new cinema out the picture for Cumbernauld?
Centre agent Belgate Properties has confirmed that the desire still exists to bring the first cinema to Cumbernauld for generations but were unable to confirm that it would happen.
In January, the firm sealed off access to Forth Walk to undertake a feasibility study which effectively blocked half the level of access from the old centre to the new.

He said: “The timescale for this is going to be largely dictated by tenant demand.
“The landlord’s current void service charge and rates outgoings are considerable and new large scale lettings would greatly reduced these and in this regard, enquiries and discussions with interested parties are continuing.’’
Meanwhile it’s emerged that legal action is now underway to re-open the blocked off area by the Antonine Centre.
