HAMILTON Park racecourse has announced Ashley Moon as its new commercial manager as the track prepares for RBS Scottish Trophy Day on Wednesday, August 20.

The popular afternoon meeting will feature six races offering a total of £35,500 in prize money with the £15,000 RBS Scottish Trophy Series Final at 4.15pm the standout.

Those in attendance at Hamilton Park on Wednesday and for the rest of this season will be welcomed by a new face in Ashley who has been tasked with managing the racecourse's commercial offerings.

He said: "I'm delighted to join the team at Hamilton Park and I am naturally very excited about the challenge of continuing to raise the profile of the racecourse.

"The recent, substantial investment at Hamilton Park has helped to create a superb venue which is more than just a racecourse and it is my job to work with the executive and management to fulfil the huge potential we have here.

"The atmosphere at the recent Ladies Night was a tremendous example of the local community supporting a high-profile event and we would hope to bring that sort of buzz to the racecourse on a regular basis."

The gates open on RBS Scottish Trophy Day at 12.30pm with the first race taking place at 2.30pm.

Tickets costing from £13 with a £4 discount for students and senior citizens are available through www.hamilton-park.co.uk or by calling the racecourse on 283806.
