St Bride’s are top of the class
The netball team won the South Lanarkshire championship yet again - that’s the fourth year in a row St Bride’s have taken the title.
The girls were coached by Alice Callaghan who has been looking after the St Bride’s team for more than 30 years. She received a certificate from Hamilton Sports Council in recognition of her dedicated sports coaching.

St Bride’s beat off competition from throughout South Lanarkshire to win the Andrew Edwards Shield and won the James Nisbet Trophy - first played for nearly 80 years ago - for the first time. They also lifted the Hamilton and District Primary Schools Trophy.
The team were coached by janitor Maurice Collins with help from former Scotland internationalist Tom Boyd. The pupils’ sporting achievements were a great way to mark the 40th birthday of St Bride’s Primary.
